GoStart Services

The services provided by GoStart are:

Dial-A-Ride

Door-to-door transport on weekdays between 09.00 and 16.30 to destinations within the Sudbury area.  Fare includes return trip to locations such as surgeries, clinics, opticians, shops, friends, social clubs and other local journeys.  Fares are fixed according to where you live, starting from £6.00.

MPV

Door-to-door transport on weekdays or, if essential, at weekends to destinations outside the Sudbury area.  Journeys must be booked as far in advance as possible and depend on the availability of one of our volunteer drivers.  Fares are based on 70p/mile and drivers will wait for up to 90 minutes for the return journey.

For example, West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds or Colchester Hospital fares are £30.00 (includes 90 minute waiting time and return journey).

Group outings

Local care homes, educational facilities, charitable groups and not-for-profit organisations are able to hire a GoStart minibus with driver to meet their transport needs.  Rates are £75.00 for up to 5 hrs and £145.00 for up to 10 hrs.

GoStart outings

GoStart offers a series of outings aimed particularly at the elderly, especially those who are housebound.  Supported by a local charity, these offer a low-cost (£5) opportunity for passengers to get out and about and socialise with others.  Further details are given under Trips and Events.

Route 112 Bildeston – Sudbury

GoStart also runs one public bus service twice weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays) between Bildeston and Sudbury via Chelsworth, Monks Eleigh, Brent Eleigh (on request), Little Waldingfield and Great Waldingfield.

Fares are £5.00 return or £3.00 single.

Bus passes and vouchers

Eligible passengers may use their bus passes only on the public Route 112.  If they have surrendered their passes in return for vouchers, these may be used for all GoStart’s other services (but not on Route 112).
